Stanley Boyd Riddle, age 74, of New Site, Mississippi, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at his home. He was born on October 2, 1951, to Boyd and Lavelle Riddle of New Site, Mississippi. At the age of 12, Stan accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, beginning a lifelong journey of faithful service to the Lord.
Stan was a devoted member and Deacon of East Prentiss Baptist Church, where he faithfully served for many years. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding the way he loved his family, cared for his friends, and served his community.
To know Stan was to know someone who genuinely loved people. Whether through his warm smile, a listening ear, or words of encouragement, he had a remarkable gift for making others feel valued. Yet above all else, his greatest joy was his family. He deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren, parents, and the countless friends who became like family. His happiest moments were spent with those he loved most—playing games with his grandchildren, teaching them the game of basketball he loved so dearly, sharing stories, and creating memories they will cherish forever.
Stan had a lifelong passion for learning. He was an avid reader with an extensive library and enjoyed traveling, visiting nearly all 50 states as well as several countries abroad. He found great joy in gospel music and was especially gifted in writing songs that reflected his faith and love for the Lord.
A 1969 graduate of New Site High School, Stan was Salutatorian of his class. He was a proud member of the 1968 and 1969 State Basketball Championship teams and the celebrated 1969 Grand Slam Championship Team, accomplishments he treasured throughout his life.
After high school, Stan attended Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville, where he majored in Pre-Pharmacy. While there, he was active in the Baptist Student Union, playing basketball, singing in the choir, and traveling to the Holy Land. He later earned his pharmacy degree from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. During his years at Ole Miss, he also began a lay ministry, faithfully sharing the Gospel by distributing gospel tracts to fellow students.
Following pharmacy school, Stan served the people of northeast Mississippi for decades as a pharmacist. He began his career at Tigrett Drug Center in Booneville before purchasing Roy’s Rx Shop in Tupelo, later renaming it The Medicine Shoppe. To Stan, pharmacy was more than a profession—it was a ministry. He cared deeply for his customers, often offering compassion, encouragement, and prayer along with their prescriptions. After selling his pharmacy, he continued serving others at the Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Booneville and through pharmacy relief work across the surrounding communities.
One of the greatest joys of Stan’s life was sharing the Gospel through music. In the mid-1990s, he founded a music ministry with his daughter, traveling throughout the region to minister in song. This ministry remained one of the most meaningful blessings of his life, allowing him to combine his love for music with his passion for pointing others to Christ.
Stan is survived by his beloved wife, Sue (Stacy) Riddle of New Site; his daughter, Tanya (Joby) Morgan of the Altitude Community; his son, Jonathan (Amanda) Riddle of New Site; his cherished grandchildren, Todd (Cassidy) Morgan, Jase Riddle, Halle Riddle, Mollie Anna Riddle, Laiken Dunman, and Mason Davis; his sisters- and brothers-in-law, Ruth Green, Cheryl Sparks, Larry Johnson, Molly Foshee, and Dan Stacy; along with a host of special nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Boyd and Lavelle Riddle; his grandparents, J.V. (Vick) and Jewell Riddle of Booneville and E.L. and Grace Moore of New Site; his father and mother in law, David and Marie Stacy of New Site; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra Johnson, Larry Green, Dwight Sparks, Lloyd and Johnnie Stacy, Stan and Jeannia Stacy, Ervin and Linda Dewald, Jackie Stacy and Hugh Foshee; his niece, Sandy Sparks; and his nephew, David Dewald.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at New Site Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, cousins and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the New Site 1969 Grand Slam Basketball Championship Team.
Stan’s greatest legacy is not found in his accomplishments, but in the lives he touched. He loved God wholeheartedly, loved his family unconditionally, and never met a stranger. His life was a beautiful testimony that serving others is one of the greatest ways to honor Christ. Though he will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved him rejoice in the promise that he is now in the presence of the Savior he faithfully served and the loved ones who welcomed him home.
