Stanley Boyce Dothard, 82 of Arab, died Friday, July 15, 2016 at Shepherd’s Cove –Hospice of Marshall County in Albertville.
Mr. Dothard was born August 20, 1933 in Calhoun County Alabama to James Dothard and Hazel Posey Dothard. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and earned the rank of Airman First Class. He was a graduate of Wallace State University and Jacksonville State University. Mr. Dothard worked for NASA as an Electric Technician until his retirement. He was a member of the Brindlee Mountain R/C Club and the men’s First United Methodist Prayer Group.
Mr. Dothard was a member of Arab First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Rachel Parker Dothard; son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Twila Dothard; daughters and sons-in-law: Karen D. and Mike Reynolds, Debbie D. and Sam Black, Myra D. and Wayne Chandler; six grandchildren: Andrea Black, Leslie Black, Chase and Whitley Reynolds, Chandler Reynolds, Zach Dothard, Shellie and Teddy Jackson; two great grandchildren: Zoie Jackson and Zane Jackson; sister and brother-in-law: Charlene and Jerry Pike. He was preceded in death by his parents: James and Hazel Dothard.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev Steve West and Rev. Roy Bryant, officiating. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. at Nances Creek Cemetery in Jacksonville, Alabama. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Greg Pike, Brian Pike, Zach Dothard, Terry Law, Chase Reynolds, Chandler Reynolds and Jeremy Sorrells. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s First United Methodist Prayer Group and the Brindlee Mountain R.C. Club.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hospice of Marshall County – Shepherd’s Cove, 408 Martling Rd Albertville, Alabama.
