DECATUR-Decatur Police were called to an Assault Call at 1801 Cumberland Avenue SW. A man was found stabbed several times. Here is what the Decatur Police have to say about the Assault:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On March 11, 2014 at 3:33 am, Officers with the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division were dispatched to 1801 Cumberland Ave SW to an Assault call.
Officers made contact with the victim 23 year old Pablo Ayala who was suffering from multiple stab wounds to his back and the offender 22 year old Ernesto Salazar.
During a family visit at Pablo’s residence Ernesto started a physical altercation. He armed himself with a knife and stabbed Pablo in the back multiple times.
Pablo was transported to Decatur Morgan Parkway Campus where he was treated for non life threatening injuries and later released.
Det. Joshua Fisher of the Violent Crimes Unit was notified and responded to the scene.
Ernesto was arrested for Assault 2nd Degree a Class C Felony. He was transported to the Decatur City Jail where he was charged and booked in. He was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $2,500.00 bond.”
