January 11, 2014 – “Rockin’ at the Roxy,” hosted by The KGB, will feature Muscle Shoals band Soul Billy Saturday night at the Roxy Theatre, 208 N. Jackson Avenue, Russellville. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. Proceeds benefit the ongoing restoration of the historic theater. Admission: $10 adults, $5 ages 6-12, free to children under 6.
January 14, 2014 – “The 5 Browns” will play an encore concert Tuesday at 7:30pm at Norton Auditorium on the UNA Campus in Florence. The five siblings, who all attended the Julliard School in New York, play classical piano and have had three albums ranked No. 1 on the Billboard Classical Album Chart. They will play some duets while other songs will have all five playing together. Tickets will be available at the door, or advance tickets are available at the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts (256-760-6379) and online. January 18-19, 2014 – Shoals Flea Market is held the third weekend of each month at the North Alabama State Fairgrounds, 65 Sportplex Drive, Muscle Shoals. Vendors with merchandise to please everyone in your group. Three buildings filled with antiques, collectibles, art, jewelry, apparel, and much, much more. Food vendors located on the Midway. Colbert County Animal Shelter available for pet adoptions. Free admission & parking, rain or shine. Saturday 9am-7pm & Sunday 10 am-5pm. January 19 – March 7, 2014 – “2014 Art of the State” Exhibition will be held at the Tennessee Valley Museum of Art, 511 N. Water Street, Tuscumbia. Art of the State 2014 is a juried exhibition of current works by studio art faculty at Alabama’s colleges and universities. The public is invited to the exhibit opening and the presentation of awards on Sunday, January 19, 1-3pm. There will be a Gallery Walk with the Jurors that day from 2-3pm. February 15, 2014 – New York Voices presented by UNA Distinguished Events will be held at 7pm at Norton Auditorium on the UNA Campus in Florence. Celebrating their 25th anniversary in music, the group is known for its inspired arrangements and unparalleled vocal blend.
