MUSCLE SHOALS – Spooner Oldham, one of the cornerstones of Muscle Shoals music was honored this past Saturday at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Tuscumbia. He received his Star.
Oldham, Grammy Winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Member told the audience of well-wishers that being recognized in his own home town area has a special meaning. Not given to long speeches, Spooner just said, “Thank you for thinking about me.” In his quiet way, he attributed his success to being in the right place at the right time. But the audience of friends and fellow Walk of Fame members knew the truth. Spooner Oldham is the “Secret Weapon” of the Muscle Shoals Sound.
