Spectrum Celebrates Launch of Gigabit Broadband, Mobile, TV and Voice Services to Thousands in Lauderdale County

KILLEN-Life-changing internet expansion is occurring in Lauderdale County. Spectrum is celebrating these investments and activations as they are helping drive economic growth in the area. High speed internet allows for businesses to conduct online commerce and drive sales, while residents can conduct online health appointments, participate in education and stay connected with the world.  On  Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 10:20 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the  Allen Thornton Career Technical Center located at 7275 Highway 72, Killen, AL 35645 Spectrum Celebrates Launch of Gigabit Broadband, Mobile, TV and Voice Services to Thousands in Lauderdale County and you are invited to help celebrate.

Elected officials, business owners and community members will join Spectrum representatives to commemorate Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services now available to homes and small businesses in Lauderdale County. Spectrum’s fiber-optic network construction occurring in the county is the result of the Federal Rural Digital Opportunity Fund, two Alabama Broadband Accessibility Fund grants and Spectrum’s investment that will ultimately bring broadband to more than 9,000 homes and small businesses.

In addition, students of the technical center will learn more about careers in the cable/broadband industry and explore what a typical day looks like for a Spectrum Field Technician. The event will include a $2,500 donation to Shoals Scholar Dollars, an organization that grants scholarships to area high school students to attend Northwest Shoals Community College.
