THE TENNESSEE VALLEY-There are several schools in the area that have decided to delay the start of school due to the bitterly cold weather forecast:
Friday, January 9, 2015 School Delays:
Athens City Schools will have a 2 hour delay.
Cullman County Schools will have a 2 hour delay.
Lawrence County Schools will have a 2 hour delay, but opens at regular time for students who need to be dropped off early.
Limestone County Schools will have a 2 hour delay for all students and employees. Breakfast will not be served.
Marshall Christian School in Albertville : Students can be dropped off at 9:30 a.m. and school will start at 10 a.m.
Marshall County Schools will have a 3 hour delay

Warming Shelters For The Tennessee Valley:
The Athens First United Methodist Church Beasley Center will be open Wednesday and Thursday night for people to get out of the cold. The address is 202 W. Bryan St., Athens, AL, 35611, Athens, AL.
ARC Cullman will open a Warming Center at the Beech Center from Wednesday at 5 p.m. until 9 a.m. Thursday. The address is 1803 Beech Ave SE.
The Salvation Army of the Shoals will have a Warming Center open during the day in the Fellowship Hall Wednesday, January 7, 2015 and Thursday, January 8, 2015. The doors will open at 8:00 a.m. and meals will be provided. Location: 1601 Huntsville Road, Florence.
Scottsboro – Room in the Inn of Jackson County. Open daily through March. Registration daily from 4:45 to 5:45 pm at Calvary Baptist. Dinner and breakfast provided by host church.
Salvation Army Huntsville, 305 Seminole Drive.

Union Grove Baptist Church in Dekalb County located at 76 Union Grove Rd. N in Crossville Wednesday at 8 am until Friday 12 pm information 256.528.7360.
Ider Rescue Squad in Dekalb County located at 20378 Alabama 117 in Ider opens 4 pm on Wednesday closes at 9 am on Thursday
