Sovola Lucille Winborn, 90, of Florence, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, at North Alabama Medical Center. She was a member of Pisgah Methodist Church and United Methodist Women’s Group. She was retired from H. D. Lee.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 12-1:30 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Pisgah Cemetery.
Sovola was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Winborn; her daughter, Charlotte Winborn; grandson, Jared Box; and parents, William and Susan Bell; brothers, Sammy, Wilburn, Thomas, Berlin, Douglas, and Thurman Bell; sisters, Hazel Faulkner, Clovis Lamb, and Jeanette James.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Box (Greg) and Carol Winborn-Morgan (Ricky); grandchildren, Erica Darby (Steven), Jessica Harrison (Tyler), Skylar Creel (Marlee), Chelsea McDonald Richardson (Eric); great grandchildren, Harrison and Avery Darby, Lila and Harper Harrison, John Oliver and Opie McDonald, Myles and Emorie Creel; special nieces, Lisa Ryerson and Linda Schafer; and special friend and “bonus daughter”, Linda Dickerson.
Her children and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a very special place in her heart.
The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Donna Holladay for her loving care of our Mother. Also, a special thank you from the family to Loretta, Maci, Matthew, and all the other staff of Affinity Hospice; and for a lifetime of care from Dr. Robert Mann.
Pallbearers will be Skylar Creel, Harrison Darby, John Oliver McDonald, Steven Darby, Tyler Harrison, and Eric Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Schafer and Dr. Jim Ryerson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pisgah Methodist Cemetery Fund.
