Sonny Banks – Obituary

Sonny Banks the twelfth child born in Tupelo, Mississippi to the union of his parents Eugene and Laura Lee Hunt Banks on June 18, 1960.

His earthly life was departed at the North Mississippi Medical Center surrounded by the love of his family on March 17, 2019.

He was a member of New Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church.  Sonny graduated from Belden High School. He was a former employee of Dynasty Furniture  USA.  His enjoyment in life was his family, listening to music,  keeping his truck washed and clean and motorcycling.   Sonny was always the life of the party and family gatherings, he enjoyed life to the fullest, would keep you laughing.

On September 3, 1988 he was united in marriage to Regina Fair.

Sonny cheerfulness and devotion to his family and friends will be missed by his devoted wife of thirty years; Regina Banks, twos son’s; Sonny (Tempest) Banks, Romelious Fair, one daughter; Shawanna Cannon, one brother; Eugene Banks, Jr., eight sisters; Jeannette (Willie) Pinson, Louise Gilbert, Virginia Edward, Esther (Lester) Jones, Jurual McGee, Christine (Willie) Topp, Shelly (James) Enos, Wilma (Rev. Billy) Rainey, his mother-in-law; Gussie Fair, 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends in the community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Charles Banks, one sister; Linda Banks, one grandchild; Kayden Fair, two nephews; Christopher Hamilton and Billy Rainey, Jr.
