“Something For Everyone” Auction & Fundraiser Set For Florence/Lauderdale Animal Shelter

SAA_LOGOFLORENCE-Shoals Animal Advocates and Friends of the Florence Lauderdale Animal Shelter are pleased to announce our first-ever “Something for Everyone” Auction & Funraiser! Join us on Saturday, August 30th at the Moose Lodge in Florence, AL (4270 Chisholm Road), from 8am-? For questions or additional information call Cheryl Jones, 256-653-7561.There’s something for everyone, no admission charge, and lots of fun to be had!

We’ll start with a 9am sign-up for the Poker Run – kickstands up at 11am and off blind the skyyou go to Stagger Lees, Minor Hill, Iron City and back – you know we have to have 50/50 and Bug Splat! If the Poker Run isn’t for you, visit the vendors with their homemade and professional goods; starting at noon buy a $7 BBQ platter with all the fixin’s, gobble up a funnel cake, or sign-up for the 3pm Shuffle Board Tournament! The band “Blind the Sky” will perform throughout the day starting at Noon. And no family-friendly event would be complete without a KidsZone! We haven’t forgotten “the game”; the Moose Lodge has 3 large-screen televisions for you to root the Tide on starting scatat 2:30pm! Whew – yes, there’s more! We’ll have a wonderful Pet Adoption area where you can find your new best friend..kitten or cat, puppy or dog, be prepared to fall in love. Prizes – you bet! For $5/ticket, you can purchase a chance to win a children’s ATV worth $1000 donated by the pet-friendly owner of Hunters Depot! After the game, we’ll start our live auction with incredible items including original artwork, and generously donated merchandise and services from Natchez Trace Harley-Davidson, Belk, Marriott Shoals Hotel & Spa, Dillard’s, HoneyBaked Ham, Tractor Supply, Southern Package, Sherry St. John, wow! To top the day off, we’ll finish with a Pool Tournament at 8pm
 
Have fun and help out! The proceeds generated from this fundraiser benefits Shoals sheltered and homeless pets by promoting rescue, fostering and adoption in the Shoals, and providing medicine, vaccines, spay/neuter services, and veterinarian visits for the animals.

If anyone with the animal shelters is looking for additional fundraising ideas, I suggest checking out BoosterShot (https://www.goboostershot.com/). My local animal shelter uses them, and they typically raise over $7K. They have a unique set of products that our community really likes to support.
