Governor Ivey announced that starting Wednesday, all public K-12 schools in Alabama will have a 2.5-week break to reduce the risk of the spread of the coronavirus.
TENNESSEE VALLEY-On Friday, March 13 after the President of the United States declared a national emergency due to the COVID-19 outbreak some area schools have closed and or planning to close and issue remote learning. We have a list here to date no public schools…high school or secondary learning have closed or issued emote learning.
Here is the list of schools which have closed and/or have gone to remote learning:
Alabama A&M moving classes online starting March 16, Dorms closing on March 20
Alabama Community College System – Temporarily discontinues on-campus classes at 23 colleges across the state from March 17 through April 3
Auburn University – Transitions to “remote delivery” instruction 3/16 – 4/10
Calhoun Community College – Classes will move online starting March 18
Jacksonville State University Classes will begin online starting March 13.
Randolph School – Classes move online starting March 16
Samford University – Beginning Monday, 3/16 – All courses will move to online instruction
St. John Paul II High School – Classes move online March 16
University of Alabama – Moving to online instruction after spring break; spring break extended to March 24 for UA and UAB
University of Alabama Birmingham – remote learning through April 6 re-evaluation to follow
University of Alabama in Huntsville – Moving to remote instruction March 16
University of North Alabama – Moving to online classes after spring break
