Some Schools Closing On Monday March 16 Due To COVID-19 Pandemic

TENNESSEE VALLEY-Due to the pandemic level of COVID-19 some schools have chosen to close on Monday instead of Wednesday, March 18 as has been stated in Governor Ivey’s State of Emergency for Alabama.

Albertville City Schools – Closed Monday, March 16 through April 3

Blount County Schools – Closed Monday, March 16 through the duration of the state mandated school shutdown

Boaz City Schools – Closed Monday, March 16 through April 3

Country Day School – Closed Monday, March 16 through the duration of the state mandated school shutdown

Decatur City Schools – Closed Tuesday, March 17 through the duration of the state mandated school shutdown

Grace Lutheran School – Closed Monday, March 16 through April 3

Guntersville City Schools – Closed Monday, March 16 through April 3

Hartselle City Schools – Closed Tuesday, March 17 through April 3

Huntsville Achievement School – Classes canceled after end of school day on March 18 through April 3

Huntsville City Schools – Closed Monday, March 16 through April 3Lindsay Lane Christian Academy – Closed Monday, March 16 through April 3

Limestone County Schools – Closed Monday, March 16 through April 3

Lincoln Academy – Closed Monday, March 16 through April 3

Madison City Schools – Closed Monday, March 16 through the duration of the state mandated school shutdown

Madison County Schools – Closed Monday, March 16 through April 3

Marshall County Schools – Closed Monday, March 16 through the duration of the state mandated school shutdown

Morgan County Schools – Closed Tuesday, March 17 through April 3

Muscle Shoals City Schools – Closed Tuesday, March 17 through April 3

Randolph School – Classes move online starting Monday, March 16

Russellville City Schools – Closed Tuesday, March 17 through the duration of the state mandated school shutdown

St. John Paul II High School – Classes move online Monday, March 16
On Sunday, March 15, the USDA approved a waiver, allowing Alabama K-12 schools to continue feeding students during the closures.

College closings:

Alabama A&M moving classes online starting March 16, Dorms closing on March 20

Alabama Community College System – Temporarily discontinues on-campus classes at 23 colleges across the state from March 17 through April 3

Athens State University – Classes move online starting March 23

Auburn University – Transitions to “remote delivery” instruction 3/16 – 4/10

Calhoun Community College – Classes will move online starting March 18

Drake State Community & Technical College – Classes will move online starting March 18

Jacksonville State University Classes will begin online starting March 13

Oakwood University – Classes will move online March 23, Students will leave campus March 20

Troy University – Moving classes online March 16

Samford University – Beginning Monday, 3/16 – All courses will move to online instruction

University of Alabama – Moving to online instruction after spring break; spring break extended to March 24 for UA and UAB

University of Alabama in Huntsville – Moving to remote instruction March 16
