Sleep in Heavenly Peace Limestone County Receives $5,000 Donation from Athens Rotary Club

ATHENS – April 14, 2026 – Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) Limestone County is proud to announce it has received a generous $5,000 donation from the Athens Rotary Club. This vital funding will directly support the chapter’s ongoing mission to build, assemble, and deliver top-quality beds to children in need throughout the local community.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national nonprofit organization with local chapters driven by a simple, yet powerful belief: No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!® The funds provided by the Athens Rotary Club will be used to purchase lumber, hardware, mattresses, and new bedding, allowing local volunteers to construct fully furnished beds for children who currently lack a safe and comfortable place to sleep.

“Sleep in Heavenly Peace positively touches the lives of so many children in our community,” said Chris Hamilton, 2025-2026 President of the Athens Rotary Club. “I am proud that the Athens Rotary Board agreed to make this donation to such a worthwhile cause.”

“We are humbled by the generosity of the Athens Rotary Club and their willingness to help get more kids off the floor in Limestone County,” said Bill Dunnavant, Director of SHP Limestone County.

The Athens Rotary Club has a long-standing history of supporting initiatives that uplift the local community. A good night’s sleep is critical to a child’s physical and mental development, and this $5,000 contribution will translate to dozens of children receiving a bed of their very own.
