Single-Vehicle Accident Near Hanceville Takes The Life Of One Person

HANCEVILLE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident that has taken the life of a pedestrian:

“A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, has claimed the life of a Virginia Beach, Va. man. 

Daniel L. Johnson, 48, was fatally injured when he was struck by the 2008 Ford Explorer driven by Julie M. Phillips, 24, of Hanceville.  Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The crash occurred on U.S. 31 near Jochum Road, approximately one mile south of Hanceville, in Cullman County. 

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
