Silas Wayne Schrimsher, 87, of Ardmore, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at his residence in Ardmore, Tennessee.
Wayne was born on Saturday, February 19, 1938, to the late Mr. Richard Columbus Schrimsher and Mrs. Ouida Elizabeth Jennings Schrimsher.
He spent his whole life in Ardmore, Tennessee. Wayne was a police officer for the Decatur Police Department and a security officer for 32 years. He also worked as a Fleet Superintendent for Sunbeam Bread Company. Wayne was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police as well as a long-time member of the Jennings Chapel Church of Christ.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with grandkids, as well as watching Alabama Football.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Elaine Schrimsher, both of his parents, one brother, Lennie Schrimsher, as well as one sister, Bettie Loggins.
He is survived by one son, Greg (Wanda) Schrimsher, one daughter, Lisa (Kevin) Williams, five grandchildren; Keith, Morgan, Zac, Gavin, and Gage, seven great grandchildren; Bo, Lexi, Walker, Adalee, Cason, Chance, and Oakley, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A chapel service will be held the following day, Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with service time beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Hasting Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama. Bro. Brock Neubauer will officiate the service.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
