FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department released a statement concerning the shooting that took place this morning, Saturday, December 3:
“At approximately 10:30a this morning officers with the Florence Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Broadway Blvd regarding a “Shots Fired” call. Upon arrival officers found a 38 year old black male who had been shot once. The male was transported to ECM hospital to receive care for non-life threatening injuries. The incident stemmed from a domestic relationship with a female. The female, who is a 35 year old black female and who is in a dating relationship with the victim, was located by officers a short time later. At the time in which the female was located by police it was found that she was in need of medical attention, not related to the incident. She was transported to ECM hospital to receive treatment. Formal charges against the female will come when she is released from ECM hospital. Once formal charges are levied we will release the female’s name.”
