FLORENCE-After two successful years, the Shoals Tinsel Trail is gearing up and taking applicants for an even bigger year with a new location.

The trail will be outside of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Tuscumbia. Opening night is December 3rd and will close on January 3rd.

“As of right now, there are still some slots available to sponsor a tree, but paperwork must be turned in by November 11th,” said Randa Hovater, Tinsel Trail Board President.

Tree sponsorships are $100 for 4’-5’ trees or $200 dollars for 7’-8’ trees. This includes the installation of your tree, signage and recycling of your tree. Sponsors are required to supply their own decorations for the tree. You are more than welcome to split sponsorships with other organizations, or we will gladly take donations toward the winning charity.

Like last year, the business or individual who purchases a tree will decide their charity of choice that the tree represents.

“Each organization can have its own foundation or charity that they care about,” Hovater said. “Also, more than one business can represent the charities. The sign will give the name of the sponsor, and what charity they chose. We are definitely encouraging local charities and nonprofits.”

The trees will be in a contest decided by digital voting during the week of December 3-10. The charity or cause that is sponsored by the winning tree will receive he proceeds from this year’s event.

Hovater said this is open for anyone who wants to sponsor a tree.

“Any organization or individual can sponsor one,” she said. “You can sponsor one and have business or school decorate it. We’ve had organizations split the cost of trees too!”

The deadline is quickly approaching and we would love for the Tinsel Trail to be at max capacity, so please be sure to get your forms in. If you’d like to sponsor a tree, please head to ShoalsTinselTrail.com
