THE SHOALS-NextGen Shoals, a young professionals organization of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce will host the first Shoals area wide mayoral debate for all qualified candidates of Florence, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, and Muscle Shoals. The event will be held at the University of North Alabama’s Norton Auditorium on Tuesday, July 19 beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The event will also be streamed on Facebook Live from the NextGen Shoals Facebook page. Questions will be fielded based off comments posted on the live video feed. There will also be a live broadcast of this event aired on 102.7 KISS FM.
The debate for the Tuscumbia candidates, currently including David Cole and Kerry “Bubba” Underwood, will begin at 6:00 p.m. The Florence debate, currently including Mayor Mickey Haddock, Steve Holt, Susan Goode and Billy Ray Simpson, will follow.
After those debates, all candidates, including the uncontested Mayor Ian Sanford from Sheffield and Mayor David Bradford from Muscle Shoals, will take part in a question and answer period based off of questions via social media. Closing statements for all candidates will be made at this time.
