Shoals Chamber Seeking Nominations for Second Business Excellence Awards

 THE SHOALS-The Shoals Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its second Business Excellence Awards presented. The awards will recognize local organizations that exhibit community and professional excellence. Winners will be announced at the 2019 Business Excellence Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, August 14 at 7:30 AM at the Ritz Theatre in Sheffield and will include breakfast.

Categories include:

Family-owned Business of the Year
This award is open to a business of any size that is family-owned and run by a member of the founding family.

Business Start-Up of the Year
This award will recognize a business that has been established in the past two years that has made a positive impact in the community.

Shoals Impact Award

This award will be presented to a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the community and impacting the lives of its citizens. Nominees must hold a current 501c3 status.

Woman-Owned Business of the Year
Recognizes a female-owned organization that has made an impact on its specific market sector, with set goals for future growth and development in the Shoals.

Minority-Owned Business of the Year
Recognizes a minority-owned organization that has made an impact on its specific market sector, with set goals for future growth and development in the Shoals.

Small Business of the Year (1-50 Employees)
Awards a small business will ten or fewer employees that has had successful growth in the past three years. This organization has a positive working environment, a committed involvement to the economic vitality of the Shoals, and are poised to grow in the future.

Large Business of the Year (51+ Employees)
Open to larger companies employing more than 50 employees. The winning business must have made a significant impact on the Shoals area through community efforts and economic growth.

To nominate your choices for these prestigious honors, or to purchase tickets or sponsorships, visit our link here. All nominees must hold a current business license or 501c3 status within Lauderdale and/or Colbert Counties. Nominations must be submitted by 4:00 PM on Monday, July 8.

Tickets for the breakfast are also available at twenty dollars per person and may be purchased through the Chamber website.

Nominees will be recognized at the luncheon. Winners from each category will be given a special award with featured recognition from the podium.
