FLORENCE – The Shoals Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the newly expanded, “The French Basket” interior design studio. They have just undergone an extensive remodeling and expansion. And the new surroundings are stunning!
“The French Basket” is located right where they’ve always been at 1609 Darby Drive. Stop by and see for yourself their new interior!
Here is what the Chamber has to say about “The French Basket”:
“The French Basket opened its doors on November 1, 2002. The shop owner, Paige Thornton, married to a native o f Florence, Blair Thornton, has two children and started a design career out of her home with a goal of a store at some point in her life. Twelve years later, a dream became a reality.
As a child, she went to flea markets with a beloved grandmother, and as a result, the love and passion for antiques of any shape or size became a part of her life. She has taken a combination of American and European antiques , and mixed them with a fresh new concept of interiors and accessories. The soft French-blue doors and chocolate awning are flanked with large windows for display. Upon entering the store, a neutral palette of linen walls and chocolate brown and blues fill the store, showcasing a mixture of antiques. A farm table with French chairs is adorned with the latest must-have dinnerware. Beautiful lamps, mirrored boxes, hand-blown Italian vases, vintage artwork, fragrant candles, handmade shell boxes, andseashells galore are an extra surprise at The French Basket. Monogrammed linens are a small glimpse intothe experience Paige wants you to have.
Every time you visit The French Basket, indulge yourself. She encourages you to have a gift-wrapped present; an art learned from her mother and her mother´s
mother and passed on to her customers. It makes your present a treat to open, since it is embellished with toile tissue paper on the inside and wrapped up in shades of oatmeal paper and tied in an array of chocolate, French blue and beige ribbon adorned with The French Basket ribbon and logo. The French Basket has something for everyone. Paige has carved out a niche of selections for the new bride and an adorable baby registry. Paige and her staff are qualified to assist you with your design needs. We invite you to come shop and let us pamper you.”
One of her favorite mottos is “Beautiful things in life are worth having.”
