Shirley Virginia Harris age 85 of Madison, AL passed away Thursday May 14th . She was born on Nov. 20, 1934 to Bertha V. Myers and Julius M. Spady in Portsmouth, VA. A graduate of Woodrow Wilson High school in 1951. She was married to William J. Harris on Nov. 24, 1951 in Portsmouth, VA. They were married for 56 years until his passing in 2013. She lived her childhood in Portsmouth, VA and after her marriage from Boston to Madison AL. where she lived most of her adult life. Shirley had a passion for antiques and art. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL.
She is survived by her three children, Darlene Potter, Sheri Graham, and William Harris Jr., eight grandchildren, Wesley, Brande, Ryan, Lee, Cory, Ariel, Nick and Ashley and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are as follows: Visitation at Laughlin Funeral Home on May 19, 2020 from 10:30 – 11:30. Graveside services at Madison Memory Gardens on Hughes Rd in Madison AL at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Heart Association or Shriner Hospital for Children.
