Mr. Shirley “Shirrel” Blackmon, 78 of Arab passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020, at his residence. Shirrell was born December 7, 1942 the son of Charlie Blackmon and Ollie Mae Weaver Blackmon. He was a member of Twelfth Avenue Church of God.
He is survived by his Wife of 35 Years: Virginia Henderson Blackmon; Children: Angie Ball (Danny), Carla Thornton (David), Jeff Murphree (Sharon), Joyce Utterback (Tony), Brian Murphree and Tanya Stephens; Sister: Peggy Rickles; Fourteen Grandchildren and Seventeen Great Grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Arab Memorial Cemetery with Brother Greg Stone officiating, Gober Funeral Chapel Directing.
Pallbearers: Daryl Greenwood, Stetson Murphree, Isaac Murphree, Kyler Thornton, David Thornton and Keenan Rigsby.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers to please make donations to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
