Shirley McPeters Largen, 70, of New Hope, AL passed away Friday July 17, 2020.
She loved her husband of 53 years, her children and three grandchildren. She loved God, her friends, family, and church. Her desire was to leave you with a belly full and a belly laugh. God now has another beautiful angel to watch over us here on earth.
Mrs. Largen is proceeded in death by mother Lillie Mae Ashburn McPeters, father William Oliver McPeters, brothers Franklin McPeters, James “Jim” Carlos McPeters, and Henry Earl McPeters.
Surviving are husband, Odis Ervin Largen, daughter, Tammy Largen Laucik, son Todd (Deb) Largen, grandchildren Taylor, Grant and Addison Largen, brother Leonard (Eddie) McPeters, and several nieces and nephews.
In normal times, Shirley had always mentioned having “Free Hotdogs & Cokes” on the funeral home marquee, to ensure a large turnout. However, out of respect for the current situation, the arrangements will be as follows:
A graveside service, will be held at Hayden Cemetery (New Hope, AL), on Monday, July 20th at 10:00AM. Due to the current situation, and trying to protect Family and Friends, we request that you remain in your vehicles during the service and tune your radio to 107.9 FM to hear the audio broadcast.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the following program. This program highlights three things that Shirley held dear to her heart (children, providing food, and the KDS DAR School, that her children attended and was a huge part of her life for so many years).
