Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Lou Hays, age 78, are scheduled for 1 PM, Thursday, September 2, 2021 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Central Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Hays passed away on Tuesday in Lexington. She was born February 24, 1943 in Henderson County to the late Johnny Burton and Litha Watson Burton. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking out, fishing, working with flowers, and keeping her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John Billy Hays and one son, John Allen Hays. Survivors include her son, Billy Charles Hays; two daughters, Patricia Hays and Patsy Austin (Stephen); her brother, James Ray Burton; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday 3-8 PM and on Thursday 10 AM – 1 PM.
