Shirley Jean Glover Robison – Obituary

Shirley Jean Glover Robison, age 76, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 12, 5-8 p.m. at North Carolina Church of Christ. The service will be Friday, May 13, at noon at North Carolina Church of Christ where she will lie in state from 11 a.m. to noon.

Interment will be at the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Robison was married to Doyce Neil Robison for 62 years. She was a member of North Carolina Church of Christ where her husband, Neil, served as an elder for 34 years. She became a Christian at an early age and was a devoted wife and mother in raising their four children and supporting her husband in his work. Working full time at M. Fine for 23 years, she later retired from American Wholesale after working there for three years. She resided at Mitchell Hollingsworth for almost five years.

Preceding her in death were 2 sons-in-law, Mike Hargett and Barry Phillips; grandson, Colby Hargett; brothers, C.E. Glover and Larimore Glover; and sister, Gertrude Hamner.

Survivors include husband, Doyce Neil Robison, of Florence; daughters, Debbie Phillips, of Killen, Mary Swindle, of Africa, and Lori Hargett, of Florence; son, Jeff Robison, of Ocala, Florida; brother, Truman Glover, of Rogersville; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Mitchell Hollingsworth station two and Amedysis Hospice for their special care.
