Shirley J. Sage, age 86, died on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at her residence surrounded by family under the care of Tennessee Quality Hospice.
She was born in a small community south of Columbus, GA, the daughter of Huey and JimmieLee Kennedy. A homemaker and wife of a career military man, Shirley and her husband traveled to various cities and countries. She was an avid seamstress making many of the children’s clothes and was an exceptional cook providing delicious meals for her family. After settling in Clarksville, TN, she was an active member of the St. Bethlehem Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Joe J. Sage; her son, Keith Lee Sage and wife Leisa Anne Sage; two daughters, Debrah Sage Garcia and Tammy Jane Van Hook; ten grandchildren, Karissa Sage, Denielle Johnson, Daniel Sage, Whitney Bryant, Patrick Garcia, Robert Garcia, Kevin Garcia, Ryan Garcia, Chuck VanHook III and Cheyenne Berry; eleven great grandchildren, Mireya Rose Garcia, Gwendolyn Mary Garcia, Colby Gage Johnson, Labrie Anne Sage, Kennedy Jane VanHook, Julie Anne Presley VanHook, Amelia Faye VanHook, Lathan Benjamin VanHook, Liam Charles VanHook, Hazel Grace Berry and Jax Joseph Berry.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert David Sage
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2019 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Pastor Keith Lee Sage officiating.
