Shirley J. KingShirley J. King, 80, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Northbrooke HealthCare in Jackson. She was born in Conran, MO to the parents of Elmer Belch and Marie Kinchen. She was retired from the Insurance Profession as a secretary for many years. She had served as Sunday School Teacher, Church Treasurer, enjoyed senior game days and trips, worked early election polls, and volunteered at Jackson Madison County Hospital. She enjoyed shopping, loved serving the Lord and the church, and most importantly, cherished her family.
She was survived by her husband of 58 years, Onus King of Jackson, TN, two daughters, Sandi (Ray) Johnson of Ooltewah, TN, and Beth (David) King of Madison, AL, one brother, Robert E. (Dot) Belch of Jackson, TN, one sister, Elaine (Curtis) Bodkins of Jackson, TN, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial contributions can be made to Englewood Baptist Church Mission Projects, 2239 N. Highland Avenue, Jackson, TN 38305.
SERVICES: The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 4:00 P.M to 6:00 P.M. at Arrington Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Englewood Baptist Church with Dr. Philip Jett Officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
