Shirley Garner Miller Prince, 83, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday. Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Tina Hucks Miller; son, Doug Moore; and brother, Bobby Miller.
Survivors include sisters, Lucy Miller of Harvest and Betty Lewis of Huntsville; brother, Billy Miller (Faye) of Scottsboro; sister-in-law, Jeanette Miller of Huntsville; three nieces; three nephews; and her beloved dog, Angel, and cat, Gracie Marie.
Shirley had a happy childhood growing up in the Big Cove community where she attended Big Cove Junior High School for nine years and on to Madison County High at Gurley where she graduated in 1952. She worked at Thiokol, J.C. Penney Company, and Onan Corporation until its closure. After she left Onan, she was employed at Marshall’s part-time for several years until her retirement in 2017. She was a member of University Church of the Nazarene.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3rd, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Prince officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greater Huntsville Humane Society, 2812 Johnson Road, Huntsville, AL 35805 or a favorite charity.
