Shirley Faye Tate , 88, formerly of Zion, IL passed away on August 8, 2025. Shirley was born on June 28, 1937 in Red Bay, AL, the daughter of John Isaac and Fronie Velma (Odems) Holland. Shirley attended First Baptist Church in Winthrop Harbor, IL and retired from A.L. Hansen manufacturing.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 19, at Dennis Memory Gardens, Dennis, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 19, 9-11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL. Burial will be in Dennis Memory Gardens. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Ronald) Harlow; daughter-in-law, Gail Tate; grandchildren, Lisa (Lee) Evans, Mark Harlow, Adam (Sharon) Tate, Andrew (Melissa) Tate and Ryan (Deanna) Tate; sister, Mae Baggett of Red Bay, AL and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.

Shirley was preceded in death by her sons, Ronald Tate, and Rodney Tate; husband, William “Bud” Tate; mother, Fronie Velma Mauldin; father, John Isaac Holland; sisters, Viola Holland, Elsie Floyd, Nellie Hall and Avadean Petree and brothers, JC Holland, FV Holland, and Charles Mauldin.
