Shirley Faye Hopper Messer, age 63 passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026 @ Brookwood Hospital, Birmingham, AL.
Shirley was the salt of the earth, a hard worker, with a heart of gold.
The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Sammy Taylor will be officiating the service. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Phil Campbell, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William S and Imogene Hopper.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 27 years Wallace Edward Messer; son, Isiah John Wesley Messer (Laura), brother, Bobby Hopper; sisters-in-law, Martha Crabtree, Margaret Haggard and Mary Belbin (Kenny).
