Shirley Drummond LollarOn Thursday, March 25, 2021, Shirley Drummond Lollar, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend met her heavenly reward at the age of 85.

Shirley was born on August 5, 1935, in Sipsey, Alabama. On July 10, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Charles. Together, they raised two daughters, Cindy and Anita.

She worked in Jasper at Independent Life Insurance and as a substitute teacher for Jasper City elementary schools only giving up subbing in the last few years. In addition to substitute teaching, Shirley became a volunteer with the Walker Baptist Medical Center Auxiliary following the death of her husband Charles in 1999. As an active member of Jasper First Church of the Nazarene, Shirley taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served for many years as the treasurer of the Missions Society. She enjoyed serving in the Nursery in later years until her health forced her to retire to the back pew.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Lollar; son-in-law, Carthell Williams; parents, Henry and Willie Mae Drummond; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill & Kathy Drummond.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Hagood (Mike) and Anita Williams; her grandsons, Carthell Williams II (Brittney), Josh Hagood, Jeremy Hagood, and Charlie Williams (Sarah Alyce); her great-granddaughter, Bailey Williams; her special granddaughter, Madison Beasley; her special daughter, Melissa Beasley Lee (Andy); her brother, Buddy Drummond (Sandra); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 28, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Jasper First Church of the Nazarene. Family visitation will be at 12:30pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Masks are required. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Revs. Wayne Williams and Greg Wood will
officiate.
