Shirley Douglas Wallace is in peace this morning, April 8, 2026, walking with Jesus and reunited with the love of her life, her husband Wally.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Odom Memorial Cemetery.
Shirley is survived by her Sisters-Ouida Douglas Fikes and Sara Douglas Foust. Her nieces and nephews-Maxwell Fikes (Pam), Brian Foust (Teresa), Susan Fikes Odom (Darryl), Michelle Foust Sanders, Shawn Douglas (Jess), Randy Douglas and Kyle Douglas and a host of great and great great nieces and nephews. Her special friend Christie Reed.
She was preceded in death by her Husband-E.T. (Wally) Wallace, her Mother and Father-Lawley and Evelyn Douglas. Her brother-Curtis (Bud) Douglas, Brothers-in-Law-Maxwell Fikes and Thomas Foust. Her niece-Pamela Fikes Lolley.
Shirley was loved by all who knew her. She always had a positive attitude, smiled and praised God every day. Due to illness and physical limitations Shirley has lived at Ridgeview nursing home for 18 years. Joe Kelley, Joette Brown, Alicia Stewart and all the staff at Ridgeview became her family, she loved them dearly. We cannot thank them enough for the love and care they gave her. Despite her situation, she was happy, greeted everyone with a smile and was full of love. Shirley will be missed by all who knew her.
