Shirley Dean Neely age 78 of Athens, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Neely was born January 2, 1939 in Limestone County, AL to William Howard Swanner and Ona Belle Miles Swanner.
Services will be Monday, June 26, 2017 1:00 p.m., at Nebo Community Church with Bro. Cecil Norman and Bro. Wayne Bowden officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Neely was a member of Nebo Community Church.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester Lee Neely, Sr.; two sons, Randy Neely and Danny Neely; brother, William Howard “Rip” Swanner, Jr.; sister, Freda Joyce Sharp.
Survived by one daughter, Angela Craig and husband, Freddy of Athens; one son, Lester Lee Neely, Jr. of Athens; two grandchildren, Jeremy Craig and wife, Kerry of Athens and Daniel Neely of Town Creek, AL; two great-grandchildren, Josh Craig and Kassidy Craig; two brothers, Grady Swanner and wife, Janice and Hershal Swanner and wife, Nancy both of Athens; one sister, Nancy Sweeney and husband, Harold of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Craig, Josh Craig, Daniel Neely, Bryant Swanner, Joey Swanner, James Schrimsher and Mike Swanner.
