Shirley Cox, 79, of Town Creek passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025. The funeral will be Monday, July 28 at 11:00am, visitation 1 hour prior at 10:00am at Jackson Memory Funeral Home with Jackson Cox leading the service.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery with Jackson Memory Funeral Home directing.

Shirley was born August 21, 1945 to William and Edna Gibson. Shirley married Edward Cox, and together they built a simple life full of love and joy. She raised a beautiful family with her three children, and she loved a good yard sale and talking on the phone for hours with her dearest friends.

She was a gentle soul with the kindest, most generous heart. She truly lived the life of a servant, and she took pride in caring for those she loved so deeply. She created a table that all wanted to gather around. She left her legacy in making magic in the smallest, most humble actions. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cox, as well as her parents. She is survived by her children, Randy Cox(Robbie), Rhonda Cox, and Tina Willis (Chris). She has five grandchildren: Kayla Cox (Ashley), Jackson Cox (Tessa), Ally Willis, Alex Logston (Bailey) and Josie Willis (Deyon). Shirley has four beloved, great-grandchildren: Donavon, Jax, Nollie, and Suede. She is also survived by siblings Charles, Linda, Theo, Jerry, and Danny.

The family sends a heartfelt thank you to the care Amedisys and NHC provided for her.

Pallbearers are Danny Gibson, Jerry Gibson, Wayne Gibson, Timmy Dutton, Tony Dutton, and Brian Lovelady.

Honorary pallbearers are Charles Gibson and Theo Gibson.
