Shirley Ann Madewell Posey, born July 17th,1950, passed away on October 31st, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital.
She was the widow to Anthony (Tony) Posey. They shared 30 years of marriage together. She was the daughter of Clyde B. Madewell and Inez Virgie Madewell.
She graduated from New Hope High School. She was employed at Redstone Arsenal for over 30 years as a secretary to the only five star General.
She was member of Farley Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and loving on her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Keith & Amy Posey and David & Tammy Posey, grandchildren Jessica (Steven) George, Makayla Posey, & Dallas (Zac) Williams, great-grandchildren Chance Dylan Willams, Truett Foster George, & Winnie Kate George, Sister Betty Ruth Whisenant, brothers Bobby (Vivian) Madewell, Farley (Ocie) Madewell, James (Becky) Madewell, and Donald Madewell, and sister-in-law Suzie H. Madewell.
She was preceded in death by her father Clyde B. Madewell, mother Inez Virgie Madewell, husband Anthony Posey, brothers Buddy Madewell, Doug Madewell, and Gary Wayne Madewell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 12:00 PM (NOON) to 2:00 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin directly afterwards at 2:00 PM, November 5th, 2025, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama, with Bro. Joe Nave officiating. Burial will be in Hatchett Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
