Shirley Ann Johnson was born Feb. 5, 1946. She was preceded in death by the late Mr. Eddie L. Johnson Sr. She was the daughter of the late Henry Murphy Sr. and the late Rosie Beckwith, all of Florence, Alabama.
She departed this life on March 24, 2016, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful and dedicated member of East Florence Missionary Baptist Church of Florence where Reverend Green Davidson IV is the pastor. She was a retired nurse for 23 years and she started her own community out reach organization where she was committed to helping unprivileged families.
She leaves to cherish her memory four loving daughters, the late Teresa Murphy Donley, Florence, Alabama, Mary Christine Lester (John), Dallas, Texas, Veronica Ann Savage, Florence, Alabama, and Yolanda Murphy Barnett, and two sons, Elvin “Bo” Murphy (Paula), Ft. Worth, Texas, and Eddie Lee Johnson Jr., Florence, Alabama.
Public viewing is today 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Grace Memorial Funeral Home, Sheffield.
Funeral services are Friday April 1, 2016, noon, at Grace Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, Sheffield.
Interment is in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Florence.
