Shirlene Gregory Lyles age 67 passed away January 10, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born October 5, 1953 in Knott County, KY, the daughter of the late Dewey Clyde and Kathleen Ritchie Busby. She grew up in the Sweetlips Community of Chester County and was a 1972 graduate of Chester County High School. She worked at Brown Shoe Company, Chester County Bank, Chester County Sportswear and then worked for Random House Books for over twenty years, retiring in 2008. Her kids and grandbabies were her joy and she loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed her house plants and shrubs. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lyles is survived by two sons, Drew Gregory (Amanda) of Henderson and Dirk Gregory (Dawn) of Jackson; a daughter, Shallon Lyles (Blake Dannar fiancé) of Henderson and five grandchildren, Allana Hannah, Dawson Gregory, Kennedi Laiklyn Gregory, Dayton Gregory and Sophia Dannar and one on the way, Isabella Dawn “Izzy” Gregory; a sister, Sandy Morris of Henderson and two brothers, Gary Busby and Larry busby both of Henderson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue. Burial will follow in Sweetlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time Thursday.
