Sherry Lynn King Thomas Sherry Lynn King Thomas, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 57 in Arab, Alabama. Born on March 23, 1968, in Marshall County, AL she was the daughter of Ralph Junior King and Erma Dean Smith King. Sherry graduated from high school and continued her education with several college courses. She had worked as an associate at WalMart.

Sherry treasured her family deeply, and her world revolved around her children and granddaughter. Being called “Grammy” by her granddaughter, Amani, brought her immense joy. Sherry’s great love for her granddaughter was displayed by her encouragement and attendance at all of Amani’s events. She found joy and pride while attending Amani’s games, school productions, and similar events. Sherry’s love for animals was evident in her home, which was always filled with dogs, cats, and aquarium fish. She found happiness in spending time outdoors, tending to her flowers, and exploring yard sales and thrift stores. She also enjoyed writing in her journal and relaxing with coloring books.

Her life was marked by devotion to her family and kindness. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Dean Smith King Norris; son, Jathan Betterton; daughter, Natasha Thomas; granddaughter, Amani Smith; and her sister, Sharon King Morgan (Tim). Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Ralph King.

Extended family, friends and guests are invited to a visitation service from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm on Friday, February 6, 2026, to celebrate Sherry’s life and legacy. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisting the family with arrangements.
