Sherry Lyn Giacomo, age 41, a resident of Cornersville, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Agnes Lepley officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-8PM and again on Sunday from 1-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 3, 1976 in Sparta, IL, Sherry was the daughter of Charles Giacomo and Donna Faught Giacomo. She was a daddy’s girl whose pride and joy were her own children. She had a special love for her nephews and gave them all a unique nickname. One of her most favorite memories was visiting her family in Illinois every year on the 4th of July and enjoying some time on the lake.

Sherry had a heart of gold always putting others before herself. She was a fighter and a strong willed person who always had a smile on her face. Most importantly, Sherry found the love for Jesus about a year ago. She began talking and praying as a part of her daily life. She was very strong and had the attitude that her lupus disease was not going to define her; she was going to fight to have the most out of her life.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son: Justin McKinley Giacomo of Lewisburg; daughter: Justice LaShae Giacomo of Lewisburg; sister: Jamie (Joey) Skinner of Chapel Hill; nephews: Jase, Jordan, and Eli of Chapel Hill; and niece: Madison of Smyrna. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Ervin Dale Faught and Edith Troutt Faught and Charlie Giacomo and Olive Mae Coates Giacomo.
