Sherry Lee EdenSherry Lee Eden, age 81, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday July 30, 2026. She was born on September 14, 1944 in Waverly, TN to Elvis and Mildred Story. Sherry was a 1962 graduate of Springfield High School. She worked alongside her husband as office manager of their company EUSCO, Inc until their retirement in 2004. Mrs. Eden was a member of White House First United Methodist Church where she served on and chaired numerous committees, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, led the UMYF and organized the Annual Fish Fry and Auction. She was a Dixie Youth softball coach. Sherry was a member of the White House Chamber of Commerce and was named Citizen of the Year in 1986. Mrs. Eden had a passion for community libraries and was instrumental in the construction of the White House Inn & Library as the TN Homecoming 1986 project. For this, she was a finalist for the Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteer of the Year award for the State of TN that same year. She founded the Friends of the Library in White House. Sherry loved decorating the Library Christmas trees with a different theme each year. Mrs. Eden served on the committees to build the current libraries in both White House and the Stokes Brown Library in Springfield, TN. She loved butterflies and a beautiful butterfly garden was created in her honor at the White House Library. Sherry served on the United Way Board, the Northcrest Foundation and Relay for Life. Mrs. Eden had an extraordinary ability to fundraise. In her retirement, she became a consultant for Rodan + Fields skincare. She was famous for her sourdough bread and she loved to cook. Sherry also loved to travel and planned annual epic family vacations. More than anything, she loved her family and one of her favorite roles was being Gran to her 4 grandchildren. Faith, family, service and giving were the epitome of her character. She loved the Lord, loved her family and served her community well. Mrs. Eden was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne Durrett, husband of 50 years Don Eden and brothers Robert Story, Glenn Story and Jerry Story. She is survived by her son Donnie (Mandy) Eden, Greenbrier, TN; daughter Kim (Mark) Reid, White House, TN; 4 grandchildren: Christian (Sadie) Reid, Carson Reid, Abby Eden, Gracie Eden; sister Peggy Gray, Springfield, TN and brother Dale (Carrie) Story, Portland, TN. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Saturday, August 8th in the Fellowship Hall of White House First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Paul Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Friday and again from 10-11am Saturday also in the WHFUMC Fellowship Hall. Burial will follow in White House Memorial Gardens with Mark Reid, Christian Reid, Carson Reid, Mike Story, Gus Eden and Josh Story serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Story, Terry Eden, Tony James, David James, Joel Thompson and Joe Eden. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity or non-profit in Sherry’s memory.
