Sherry Ann Shawley Kent went home to her Lord and Savior on April 15, 2026.
She was born on Thursday, February 2,1956, in Chicago, Illinois.
She lived a life defined with a deep love for her family and friends, but most importantly her Lord Jesus Christ.
She had a passion for caring for others, and teaching Sunday School.
Sherry was proceeded in death by her parents Gracie and Jessie Shelton, her First husband David (Mike) Shawley, one granddaughter, Makayla Grace Miller, one stepson, Heath Kent, two sisters: Irene Smith, Geraldine Shelton, as well as one brother, Billy Shelton.
She is survived by her husband, Bro. Wayne Kent. one daughter, Kim (Jimmy) Miller. one granddaughter, Hannah (Tyler) Smith, two great grandchildren: Amaryllis Smith and Asher Smith, five stepchildren: Shawn (Lynda) Kent, Tracy (Jim) Quillin, Kasey (Donna) Kent, Cassandra (Crandon) Creel, and Karitsa (Michael) Barcus, thirteen step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, one sister: Debbie Rashure.
Sherry’s life was one of quiet strength, steadfast faith, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama. A Chapel Service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama, beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Jeff Drake and Bro. Wayne Kent will be officiating. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery, located in Ardmore, Alabama.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
