Sherrill J. “Sherry” Overton Tackett, 66, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Russellville Hospital. She was born in Russellville, Alabama, and was an employee of Community Spirit Bank for over 25 years. She was a member of Vina First Baptist Church, Vina, Alabama.
Services will be Saturday, June 20, at noon at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Alabama, with Brother Ray Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery in the Wigginton Community near Hackleburg, Alabama. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are one son, Ryan Tackett (Desirae) Fulton, Mississippi; one grandson, Peyton Tackett, Fulton, Mississippi; one brother, Kent Overton (Laura) of Michigan; sister-in-law, Gerelene Overton; and a host of nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ardie Overton and Elois Stidham Overton, and a brother, Jerry Overton.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Overton, Peyton Tackett, Drew Payne, Kent Overton, Dylan Overton and Connor Overton.
Visitation will be Friday, June 19, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
