Mrs. Sherrill Dean Mclendon, age 80 of Arab, Alabama; peacefully passed from this life in the early hours of January 23, 2021. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family
Deanie was born on October 10, 1940 to the later Rev. Jefferson James LeFevre and Francis Marie McIntire LeFevre in Los Angeles, California. She was the third youngest and last born of her siblings. Deanie worked as a secretary for a construction company most of her early years and later began breeding and selling parrots where she became known as the bird lady.
Deanie was married to the late Melvin “Ray” Mclendon for 60 years. She is survived by a sister, Betty McCormick of Cullman, Alabama; a brother, Don LeFevre (Harriet) of Yucca Valley, California; sons, J.B. Mclendon (Trish) of Arab, Alabama and Bobby Mclendon (Becky) of Guntersville, Alabama and one daughter, Jelli Beezer of Kalispell, Montana; seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service and Burial will be held on Wednesday – January 27, 2021 in Falkville, Alabama at the Roundtop Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Josh Garmany and Don Hill, officiating.
Pallbearers escorting Mrs. Mclendon to her final resting place will be: J.B. Mclendon, Bobby Mclendon, Nick Mclendon, Darin McCormick, Matt Adamson and Ryan Culler.
