Sherrel R. Comer, 78, of Rogersville died Wednesday, June 01, 2016 at his residence. He was a 1956 graduate of Lauderdale County High School, attended Florence State, a member of the Church of Christ, ROTC and the Army Reserves. Sherrel enjoyed deep sea fishing and hunting quail. He was a dedicated, hardworking metal worker at Reynolds/Wise Alloy for 38 years with many of his friends. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Mr. Comer was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Beulah Comer; infant brother, Bennie Comer Jr. and brother, Don Roger Comer. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Comer; sons, Greg Comer and Randy (Mary) Comer; grandchildren, Lauren and Ashley Comer; brother, Jess (Ann) Comer; sister-in-law, Joy Comer; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, June 3rd, 2016 from noon to 2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in the chapel with Alex Bayes officiating. Burial will be in Civitan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Comer, Matt Cross, Travis Slaton, Ernest May, Charles McMurry and Jerry Bedingfield.
