Shelia Faye Cribbs Barkley, 68, resident of Ripley, departed this life unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the Tippah County Hospital.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Ms. Barkley will be Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 3PM in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Visitation will be from 1PM until 3PM. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
Ms. Barkley was born July 21, 1955, in Ripley to the late James Cribbs and Martha Akins Hall. She received her education from Ripley High School and was employed in the furniture industry as a seamstress as long as her health allowed.
A Christian and Baptist faith, Ms. Barkley will be remembered for her outgoing personality, giving the best hugs, taking much pride in her appearance including her “bling” and making the best chocolate oatmeal cookies and chicken and dressing. Some of her favorite past times include crossword puzzles, coloring and loving on her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memories include two daughters, Tammy Burns Gaillard (Jerry Clark Jr.), and Alice Heavener (Tommy), one son, Roger Burns Jr., three sisters, Kathy Clemmer (Danny), Belinda Carter (Trent) and Patsy Wilbanks, five grandchildren, Sarah Jones (Trevor), Derrick Smith, Allen Leopard, Calvin Burns, and Travis Burns.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Heavener, Lee Mullins, Brian Wilbanks, Ellis Akins, Ronnie Hall, Shannon Akins and Roy Dale Carroll.
