Funeral service for Sheila Ruth Schrimsher, age 56, of Decatur, will be Sunday, June 9, 2019, 3:00 p.m. at Beltline Church of Christ with Steve Smith and Aaron Dawson officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be in Decatur City Cemetery.
Miss Schrimsher, who died Friday, June 7, 2019, at her residence, was born December 18, 1962, in Athens, to Thomas Richard Schrimsher and Mattie Sue Smith Schrimsher. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
She is survived by three brothers, Sherrill Schrimsher, Royce Schrimsher (Greta), and James Paul Schrimsher, all of Athens; three sisters, Pettus Durham and Nora Lindsey (Terry), both of Athens, and Denise Schrimsher of Decatur; and several nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and -nieces.
Pallbearers will be Danny McCaig, Doug McCaig, Brann Perry, James Lindsey, Terry Lindsey, and James Slager.
The family would like to express their thanks to a very special niece and caregiver, Sonia Corbus, and the staff of Hospice of North Alabama.
