Labarags Madden – In Custody
SHEFFIELD – The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office has in custody, Labarags Madden, 29, in connection with an stabbing incident which sent a Sheffield woman to the hospital. The assault took place Thursday night near 21st Street and Ninth Avenue in Southeast Sheffield.
Police indicated that Madden has a history of drug abuse and violence. In addition to this incident Madden was also wanted on an Colbert County arrest warrant for domestic violence.
The injured woman, who it is reported knew Madden through a friend, was giving madden a ride home from a mutual friend’s residence, when Madden allegedly tried to rob her. Police say when she told him that she had no money, madden began stabbing her.
The woman, who is unidentified by police, managed to get Madden out of her car and drive herself to Helen Keller Hospital, where she was treated and released.
