SHEFFIELD-Sheffield Police are currently investigating a homicide that took place sometime before 5AM on September 26 according to authorities with the SPD.
Police were called to a duplex located on West Montgomery at around 5AM on Tuesday, September 26. Upon arriving at the scene officers found the body of Thomas James Hairrell, 64. Hairrell was suffering a gunshot wounds and was found near the front door of the residence.
The body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville for autopsy.
