Sheffield Man Arrested On Trafficking Meth And Fentanyl

COLBERT COUNTY-On November 20th, at 1:00pm, deputies for the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop for improper lane usage in the area of Highway 157 at Frank Ln.

As the deputy approached the vehicle he observed three occupants and detected what was believed to be the odor of

marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The deputy requested agents with the Colbert County Drug Task Force at the scene. After removing the occupants from the vehicle and conducting a search, agents located several clear plastic bags containing a total of 1.5 ounces of fentanyl, and 1.8 ounces of methamphetamine.

Jamarcus Raymond Whitson 39 of Sheffield was arrested for two counts of drug trafficking.

Whitson was transported to the Colbert County jail where he is being held on a 1.5 million dollar bond.
