Sharon G. Hewlett, 70, passed away on April 23, 2025 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL, after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer.
Sharon was retired from Mississippi State University where she was the Senior Legal Admin/Director of Licensing. She graduated, Valedictorian from Maben High School class of 1973. Sharon loved spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, working in her yard and traveling with David. She had many special friends from childhood and her time working in Starkville and MSU.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Georgia Mae Greenlee and Walter A. Greenlee and her five sisters and one brother. She is survived by her loving husband, David McDowell Hewlett; her daughter, Haley Hewlett Dameron (Christian) of Valdosta, Ga; her son, Matt Hewlett (Amber) of Asheville, NC; her beloved dog, Max; grandchildren, Anna Clayton Dameron, Ava Hewlett, and Wells Dameron.
Visitation for Sharon is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 12-2pm at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
